Our Story

HM Air is proud to announce the acquisition of Alice Springs Helicopters, uniting two of the Northern Territory’s most experienced and respected aviation operators.

This milestone brings together decades of flying experience, deep local knowledge, and a shared commitment to safety, reliability, and service excellence. The acquisition significantly strengthens HM Air’s capability, creating one of the Territory’s most comprehensive aviation businesses. Together, the group delivers a wide range of services including aerial survey and utility support, heavy lifting, land and fire management, mustering, charter services, tourism, and more.

Both companies will continue operating under their respective trading names as part of the HM Air group, ensuring full continuity for existing clients. All current operations, contracts, and services remain unchanged, while benefiting from increased resources, expanded capability, and the support of a larger aviation network.

Meet The Team

Sam Chisholm

Director

Sam commenced his helicopter career in 2006 in Kununurra and later Northern Territory, flying from Victoria River Downs (VRD) and serving as a CASA-approved Check and Training Pilot for Low Level, Mustering, Sling operations, and Gimbal G2 endorsements. He has managed and flown in companies specialising in mustering, aerial work, include multiple fire seasons with R22, R44, and B206L, AS350 and B407. Alongside his aviation expertise, Sam brings strong business acumen having worked in Agri finance for Agricultural Management Company.

James Griffiths

Alice Springs Base Manager

James is a born and bred local who calls Central Australia his ‘back yard’. He grew up around helicopters, taking to the sky when he was very young. His passion shows in his dedication to his flying and his role as Chief Pilot.
